If anyone’s curious, yes, I do frequently like/store Tumblr posts that I think will be useful for cheering people up because that’s THE BEST THING TO DO
today has been exhausting in so many ways, so i feel like i just need to not think about things.
i guess a distraction would be nice? idk i have no idea whats reasonable in situations like this.
unless that was an example of “things people say to be polite”. either way, thanks for taking the time to send me a message. i really do appreciate it.
Distraction, you say!?
Well, BOY HOWDY I have one of those right here: A Dark Room
The name is ominous, but it’s a super interesting Cookie Clicker-ish game about building a village and exploring the wilderness. And WOW it’s definitely distracting. (I’ve been playing it for… six hours?)
Alternatively, here’s a video of a dog dancing: THE CUTEST
And HERE’S Bo Burnham’s hour long comedy special ‘What’ that will make you pee your pants laughing
AND HERE’S a literal list of things to help you if you’re having a bad night!
all of my plans for the future start out with “when i get rich”
That, or “when the Doctor makes me his companion” or “When there are ghosts in my house and the Winchesters has to come and help me kick their ass”
Or “when I marry Benedict Cumberbatch”
"When I join Starfleet"
Mine all seem to be “When I make a thing that everyone loves” right now
Ok, so here’s a long, (almost completely) spoiler free, recap of how last night went:
It was very cold, but they were already seating people at 6:30, so we got in quickly. That did mean we missed out on making line friends, but that is a sacrifice we had to make.
I’ve been to Motorco before so I was totally stoke to be going back because I loved it last time! (Went to see I Fight Dragons year before last)
Seating was plentiful, if not well thought out (a lot of people were sitting on tall stools which seems like it would be uncomfortable?)
The musical guest (and here’s where it gets a tiny bit spoilery) was Danny Schmidt, who was actually from the Weather in episode eight, and he even played This Too Shall Pass, which was the song from that episode! He performed with Carrie Elkin who was a phenomenal singer that I hadn’t heard before. Got both of their CDs!
The episode was, as always, great. No spoilers, obviously, but if you don’t get a chance to see it live, I think you’ll really enjoy it when it’s available for download! (Though some of the charm may be lost)
Met a couple people who seemed cool, got leg cramps like you wouldn’t believe, missed out on autographs because they apparently only do them after the late show, but all-in-all a great night!
Not as many cosplayers were there, either, so I only got one picture of someone in costume, which I posted last night. There were a couple Cecils, a Kevin, and a Carlos, but the cosplay was turned way down from last time. Good? Bad? Who even knows?
